Cloud1Vpn Desktop Client for Mac is an easy-to-install desktop app that lets you connect to your dedicated Cloud1Vpn VPN from your Mac. While Cloud1Vpn can be used with other VPN clients that support the OpenVpn protocol, We recommend Cloud1Vpn Desktop Client as the officially supported client for Mac.

Installing Cloud1Vpn Mac Client

  • Download the installer from the download section above.
  • When the download is completed, open The Downloads folder and double click the imstaller to start the Setup
  • Complete the installation by following the instructions in the setup wizard
    • The installation steps are generally simple and only require clicking on `Accept` and `Next` buttons
    • You may be prompted to enter your system password to allow the installtion of the software on your Mac.
    • You may also receive the following warning. “Cloud1Vpn” is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?'
      • Click `Open` to allow the installtion.
    • You may also receive the following warning. '“Cloud1Vpn” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.'
      • Open System Preferences.
      • Go to Security & Privacy
      • Click 'Open Anyway' next to the message “Cloud1Vpn” was blocked from opening because it is not from an identified develoepr.
      • Enter password and click Open

Launching Cloud1Vpn Mac Client

  • Start Cloud1Vpn.app from the Applications Menu or Launchpad
  • The red (disconnected) Cloud1Vpn icon will be added to the system menu bar at the top of the screen.

IMPORTING CLOUD1VPN SERVERS Configs

  • From the menu bar, click the Cloud1Vpn Systray icon to access the dropdown menu
  • Click on Login / Load Server from the menu
  • Authenticate using your Cloud1Vpn phone number and password
    • Once You're logged in , your servers configuration will auto import; a list of servers will be added under the menu Connect To Servers
  • The servers' settings are cached for future use, so you won't need to authenticate everytime

Conntecting To Your Dedicated Server

  • From the menu bar, click the Cloud1Vpn icon to access the dropdown menu
  • Choose the server you would like to connect to from the Connect To Servers menu
  • The system will validate your configuration and authenticate; Once logged in, the Cloud1Vpn Systray icon will switch to green
  • The systray icon is contstantly monitoring the connection using the following color indicators:
    • Red: Not connected or VPN tunnel is down
    • Orange: Logged in but not connected
    • Green: Connected

TESTING NETWORK SPEED WITH CLOUD1VPN

  • From the menu bar, click the Cloud1Vpn Systray icon to access the dropdown menu
  • Click on Speed Test from the menu
  • From the Speed Test window Click the Go button
  • The test will take a few moments to analyze your connection
    • The test will analyze your Ping time
    • The test will analyze your Jitter time
    • The test will analyze your Download speed
    • The test will analyze your Upload speed
  • You can click the Again button to re run the test

Accessing Your CloudVault Files

Cloud1Vpn DataVault mounts with the Mac-Os native filesystem transparently; you do not need to install any additional software or configuration. Even though your files are stored on your dedicated remote server, you are able to manage and edit them as if they were present inside a local directory on your Mac. Your remote files can eb accessed from Finder but are always stored securily inside your VPN and only accessible when you're connected to your VPN.

  • From the menu bar, click the Cloud1Vpn Systray icon to access the dropdown menu.
  • If you have Vault Feature enabled, the Data Vault menu
  • A Finder window will open listing the content of your files
      Please note that:
    • You can only access your Data Vault if you are connected to Cloud1Vpn
    • Your Data Vault files are not copied to your local Mac unless you copy then manually

Download Cloud1Vpn Desktop Client Installer

Install Tunnelblik Client for Mac OS

  • Select and download the installer from the download section above.
  • When download is completed, Open The Download folder and double click the imstaller to start the installation
  • Drag and drop the Tunnelblick icon into the Applications folder. This will add Tunnelblick.app to your system.
  • Complete the installation by following the instructions in the setup wizard
    • The installation steps are generally simple and only require clicking on `Accept` and `Next` buttons
    • You may be prompted to enter your system password to allow the installtion of the software on your Mac.
    • You may also receive the following warning. “Tunnelblick.app” is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?'
      • Click `Open` to allow the installtion.
    • You may also receive the following warning. '“Tunnelblik” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.'
      • Open System Preferences.

  • You can optionally configure Tunnelblick to start automatically when you reboot your machine; This way you will always be protected.

Download Server Config

  • Go to My Dedicated Servers section (you may need to log in)
  • Select the server you would like to use and click Download
    • On certain versions of Mac, this may launch the Tunnelblick Client and auto connect without any additional steps.
    • Otherwhise, start the download and save the `.opvn` configuration file
  • Choose a folder to save the configuration files on your Mac hard drive

Launch Tunnelblik Application

  • Start Tunnelblik.app from the Applications Menu or Launchpad
  • The gray (disconnected) Tunnelblik icon will be added to the system menu bar at the top of the screen

Importing Cloud1Vpn Servers' Configurations

  • You can import your server config as follow
    • Method 1:
      • Open 'Tunnelblick.app' from your Mac Applications folder.
      • Drag and drop the downloaded `.ovpn` config file into the Tunnelblick window.
      • when prompted the following `Install Configuration For All Users?`, choose `All Users` or `Only Me`.
      • You may be prompted to enter your system password to allow the installtion of the software on your Mac.
    • Method 2:
      • Go to the downloaded `.opvpn` file and right click the file.
      • Choose 'Open with Tunnelblick.app'.
      • when prompted the following `Install Configuration For All Users?`, choose `All Users` or `Only Me`.
      • You may be prompted to enter your system password to allow the installtion of the software on your Mac.

Connect to Cloud1Vpn Using Tunnelblick

  • Launch Tunnelblick Client, The Tunnelblick Notification Icon should appear
    • You can start Tunnelblick Client from the Applications Folder
    • You can start Tunnelblick Client from the Launchpad
  • Go to the Configuration Tab, then select the profile from the configuration section and click `Connect`
  • The system will take a few seconds to validate your configuration and authenticate.

Verify Your Secure Connection

Install OpenVpn Client for Mac OS

  • Install OpenVpn port for Mac using Command Line
  • brew install openvpn
    • It is possible that you may need to install Homebrew

Download Server Config

  • Go to My Dedicated Servers section (you may need to log in)
  • Select the server you would like to use and click Download
    • On certain versions of Mac, this may launch the Tunnelblick Client and auto connect without any additional steps.
    • Otherwhise, start the download and save the `.opvn` configuration file
  • Choose a folder to save the configuration files on your Mac hard drive

Connect to Cloud1Vpn Using OpenVpn

  • Connect using OpenVpn Command Line Client
  •  sudo /usr/local/Cellar/openvpn/2.4.6/sbin/openvpn --config ~/Downloads/cloud1vpn.com &
    • ~/Downloads/cloud1vpn.com is an arbitrary file name, make sure you use the name of the file you downloaded
    • /usr/local/Cellar/openvpn/2.4.6/sbin/openvpn is an arbitrary version
         sudo /usr/local/Cellar/openvpn/2.4.6/sbin/openvpn --config ~/Downloads/cloud1vpn.com &
         sudo /usr/local/Cellar/openvpn/2.4.6/sbin/openvpn --config ~/Downloads/cloud1vpn.com &
